When Kung Fu Panda was released in 2008, I was not ready. As Po, the certificate of Kung Fu Fighting the panda, the film was a rough diamond - a wise Buddhist parable of fate, destiny, identity, mentality and harmony, which happened to be cute and funny cartoon, which tripled as an epic kung film was. Needless to say, are not easily detectable in the achievements of the title, like Kung Fu Panda and the motto "the voice of Jack Black!"

But, like another great result to be published this summer (The hangover II) Kung Fu Panda 2 is facing a challenge in the expectations raised by the audience and the potential obsolescence of the object.

Thus, if the sequel is based on a solid basis for the original?

In this second chapter, the panda Po (Jack Black) is now the Dragon Master, living alongside his idols the Furious Five - Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross). Po finally has the life he dreamed of (the fight against evil as a legend of Kung Fu), but that happiness quickly broken. One day, while in the midst of battle, Po is the wolf boss (Danny McBride), a villain whose armor has a strange board - which sends all kinds of repressed memories flooding back into the mind Po, which illustrates his life and a child in reference to its true origin.

These memories unlocked release its center Po kung fu, and is charged by the Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) to learn new techniques for inner peace and harmony if you want to solve both your soul and take his kung-fu to the next level. Of course, there is little time to think: The Furious Five (and Po) learn quickly from the evil Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) back - an evil kung fu master is connected to the wolf gangsters and developed a new weapon that could win both in kung-fu and China itself. Furious Six went to the city to stop Shen and save the day.

So, is on the road, so that all the difficult problems facing him, that Po inevitably meet their fate - which extends far beyond its original intention to become the Dragon Warrior.

As mentioned, the great strength of Kung Fu Panda has been in the balance (pun add Buddhist). The comedy was funny, Jack Black is well suited to the role of Po, the martial procedures were epic and exciting to watch (even with cartoon animals), most of all, the script was so good at so many levels that 'There were several times during the film gave me goose bumps, or even had engorgement (RIP Master Oogway). Kung Fu Panda 2 is a much smoother and brighter than the original - and the key word here is "product."

As of this summer's second great animation (Pixar Cars 2), Po Kung Fu Panda is a recognized brand, and, inevitably, that a change of consciousness has been influenced by film. If the first installment was a breathing space to build a vigorous and coherent narrative on several levels, this will only plunge plot stereotypical summer blockbuster. Ten minutes later, we have a conflict, the bad and the teaching of the Po needs to learn together in a hurry in place quickly. If the first film in the acts and episodes of the points of the story organic logic, this sequel is better than a three-act Superhero Movie: fight sequence at the beginning, the key action sequences in the middle, the big climax at the end of the landscape. Some action is certainly more right (now Po and the Furious Five is a cohesive group of techniques), much of it inevitably falls into that category is a mess, no-stakes, hard to follow sequences you'll see so many modern action films . Slightly disappointing recession.

Fortunately, most of these things will begin to find some time past the halfway mark of the film. We arrive at the end of a smarter, more intelligent and resonant Kung Fu Panda, which many critics fell in love. Filmmakers enjoy less arbitrary action, Jack Black schtick, and spend more time developing the Po, and extending the same themes of identity, mentality, and the fate of the harmony that made the first film so great.

I would say the authors - Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger, with the help of others - do a wonderful job of tying some of the persistent conspiracy son of the first film (for example, the chuck Po, a panda, I thought it was Ping's son, a goose). The script weaves the son hanging a new story that connects the two arcs of narrative and themes of the story of Po, while broadening the scope and size of the world of Kung Fu Panda. He even managed to leave the door open for a third movie ;-). That is all: the problem for me was not in history, how history has been executed.

If it is a pleasant surprise in the film is the Lord Shen. As the villain in the first film, Shen more complicated than your opponent's standard comic book and the film wisely affect some of the deeper issues that are twisted fu master kung otherwise skillful and wise in a so- called a tyrant. With the voice of Gary Oldman handling, Shen truly becomes a character full / Po sheet, not just the new face of our heroic panda have to book.

With the exception of the last set piece (a battle at sea), I can not say the new agreements after everything was exciting - especially in 3D. Most of the film takes place in cities and / or buildings (if impressive) are a stark contrast to the open field and plush Chinese countryside in the first film. More inside, it's also darker tones and dark tones, and 3D glasses is synonymous with image quality more turbid, which ultimately degrades the experience. The film was designed for 3D, there are some good ideas put into play quite operate in the medium term - but other times (especially during the second battle sequences act), murkier shades, tighter shots and convoluted group of kung-fu mechanical, it was hard to tell what was happening. The good news is that the film ends with a high, with an epic and (literally) explosive fight that you should leave Street Fighter fans particularly happy ;-).

The first Kung Fu Panda is a brilliant film, which arrived on the expectations of the poor, Kung Fu Panda 2 is a good movie, which goes to great expectations. Although the disadvantages of children continue to love it, it's still epic and fun for adults and the film still manages to say something about the influences and significant - even if it takes a little more time to do it.
